    Intuitive User Interface

The Avaya one-X Desktop Edition has a state-of-the-art user interface featuring drag and drop functionality, click to dial capabilities and directory/contact list integration.

Improves personal productivity and shortens learning curve.

    Presence

The Avaya one-X Desktop Edition contact list shows each user's presence (on the phone, away).  Server-based presence (available with Avaya SIP Enablement Services) results in less network traffic.  In addition there is an Access Control List that can be used to block contacts.

Enables users to identify others' availability to take a call or instant message.

    Instant Messaging

Send and receive messages, presence status, can use telephone number or email address to contact.

More effective workgroup communications within the enterprise.

    Desktop Integration

Can search in Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or LDAP to create a contact and can dial a phone number or SIP URI on a web page viewed by Microsoft Internet Explorer.

    Increases user productivity.

Discovery of configuration settings via DHCP and HTTP

Because the SIP telephones use the same setting script, this unifies configuration of Avaya endpoints in a SIP-based deployment.

Easy for IT department to deploy.
